If you are not a member of the SPHBC, but are interested, you may join us for a meeting or two to see what we are about. SPHBC wants to make better brewers out of each member.

We are not like most clubs that will blindly tell you your beer is great. If you can handle criticism, bring beer for evaluation: It will be evaluated according to BJCP guidelines. Bring at least 2 12 ounce bottles to make it around the room, they should be labeled with Your Name, and the Style of beer you are trying to emulate (without labels it is chaos). Also, bring your recipe & brewing notes because you will be questioned about your ingredients and brewing process. You cannot expect recommendations for improvements on a beer if you don't remember what's in it!

Meeting Guidlines

We conduct our meetings on the first Tuesday of each month (usually) upstairs at Happy Gnome at 7pm.

For newcomers: rules and guidelines for the meeting: Happy Gnome allows us to meet in their upstairs space as long as we're good citizens. Buy a beer or two and tip your servers. Feel free to bring your homebrew for evaluation and sharing. Just keep it discreet until we're upstairs. Please no commercial beers

If you want comments on your brews, best to bring 2 bottles, and label them with a sticker or masking tape. This works best if you bring the recipe specifics you used, and tasting notes.

If you would like to e-mail the Saint Paul Hombrewers Club, please direct it to info@sphbc.org
